How is everyone staying inspired to practice these days? Even as a professional musician, I find it hard to maintain consistency with no gigs/touring and everything going on in the world!
For me, sometimes practicing in smaller chunks is best. I also often get a bit burnt out with all of my teaching hours, so I try to maximize playing in lessons with students as much as possible, ex: doing an exercise where we both play and I am muted. This could be working something through all keys, playing scales together, etc.
I love to set a timer for 10-15 min and just pick one thing to do! Such as a melody in all 12 keys, improvising on a tune, etc. And when all else fails, I absolutely love improvising longtones to spa/ambient playlists on Spotify! #guiltypleasure :)
